A few years ago, when I was speaking to business groups about the coming wireless revolution, my wife used to ask me: “But, what will the devices be.”
This past Christmas we bought each other Amazon Kindle Fires, and now I think my wife has the answer to her own question. Since December, we can hardly put them down long enough to charge!
There are lots of new tablet devices, and most of them are great. And, quite frankly, we didn’t spend a whole lot of time making our decision to get ‘Fired.’ We might have been just as happy with another choice, but frankly, why?
Sure it has limitations, like WiFi only, but what new device is perfect, or can’t be improved?
When you step back and think about it, for $199 the Kindle Fire is an amazing media device – especially for video. I have not performed a scientific test, but so far I have been able to watch every kind of video I have wanted to, without limitation.
The other thing we like is the size. Sure, we could have bought iPads, but the 7″ size of the Fire is so darn convenient.
